Young Creatives

The AGWA Design Store has had a drop of new and ridiculously fun art and craft to keep the young, and even slightly less young, creatives entertained and entranced over the school break.

From the new somersaulting Looper airplanes to the graphic novel, When the World Was Soft, a beautiful new First Nations book from regional Western Australia, there is something for all interests.

We have also restocked some customer favourites, including the hugely popular mess-free painting Magic Canvas and Brush Set and offerings from our sweet little bunny, Miffy.

Enter for your chance to win one of three copies of Charles and Barbara Blackman: A Decade of Art and Love by Christabel Blackman.

The Art Gallery of Western Australia contributed artwork images for the creation of this publication from the several Blackman pieces in the State Art Collection.

Set against the burgeoning cultural art scene of 1950s Melbourne, among the soon-to-become legendary artists of the Heide group, Christabel Blackman weaves the story of her parents Charles and Barbara Blackman, the influence they had on each other, and on the Australian art world.

With over 160 artworks from Charles Blackman and never-before-seen sketches, letters, documents and photos, this book is a beautiful and revealing portrait of two people, their art, and a world they changed forever.
