Carly Spooner is the stylist behind the artist. Recognised as one of acclaimed street artist Rone's closest collaborators, Carly is the lead set decorator of the iconic immersive exhibition, TIME by Rone – receiving rave reviews at AGWA. With a background in metalsmithing, and a decade of experience in the commercial image styling industry, Melbourne native Carly also has an undeniable knack for transporting people to another time and place through her detailed work as a freelance set decorator. Now as an extension to its popular exhibition, TIME, audiences have an opportunity to sit and be immersed in the historic Centenary Galleries, while enjoying an intimate and decadent dining experience. Carly has collaborated with Rone to create this new sensory experience and a never-before-seen dining room. Together they’ve created a unique setting for guests to celebrate precious moments with friends, or potentially “new” friends – at a long table dinner curated by internationally renowned chef Guy Grossi. |
“The dining room is a banquet for the senses. An immersive experience that'll be here for a fleeting moment.” said Carly. To create the TIME • DINING magic, Carly draws on her expert prop sourcing skills, historical research, and an affinity for interiors. In 2019 she won two TDF Design Awards for her styling and collaborative work on Rone's Empire. As part of the TIME • DINING experience, guests receive after-hours access to the TIME • RONE exhibition and to the TIME • BAR, before enjoying their four-course menu, with bespoke wine pairings by St Hugo, curated by VNTNR. All merging with a soundscape by composer Nick Batterham. “We've worked closely with AGWA to create a multi-sensory bar and dining experience. The bar is an opportunity to extend your experience of TIME, before you step back into the real world. While the dining room is an intimate experience with props that have been styled to enhance the drama.” said Carly. Bookings are now open: time-rone-agwa.com While in Perth, Carly dropped into our Design Store to choose her favourite things. |
