Urban Kitsch, originally written in 1996, explores the vernacular visual culture that emerged in Baroda following the liberalisation of India’s economy. From plastic toys and celebrity mud flaps to postmodern architecture, Praneet Soi documents a changing urban landscape and the new visual language developing around him.
