Sculptor’s Notebook, originally written in 1985, reflects on the developing practice of acclaimed Indian artist Pushpamala N. Centred on her early sculptures exploring adolescence and womanhood, the text also reveals a growing interest in performance, humour and play-acting, ideas that would become central to her later work.
Published here for the first time, the book presents a complete facsimile of Pushpamala N’s Master’s dissertation, accompanied by a recent interview with the artist by Nihaal Faizal and Sarasija Subramanian.
