Pindan

The red-soil Country of the west Kimberley is known as the pindan. The creative force that draws inspiration from this place is immense.

In this journal, eighteen contributors respond to their experience of the pindan. Some were born and raised on Country, and reside here as their ancestors always have. Others stayed for a short but intense period in their lives. Then there are those who arrived and chose to remain, because they recognised it as a place that provided them with something they could not find anywhere else.

PINDANis a small, diverse collection of knowledge and art, writing and ecology, and is an exploration of what this shared place means to us.
