Melbourne artist Kate Rohde uses hand modelling and casting techniques to produce discreet functional and sculptural objects. Inspired by historical decorative arts, Rohde loves Baroque, Rococo and Art Nouveau. Her exclusive pieces at AGWA include bold statement vases, sculptures and maximalist jewellery created in food-safe resin. Fascinated with intense colours, Rohde's various skills and interests have seen her work in several creative arenas, including collaborating with Australian fashion house, Romance was Born on its Renaissance Dinosaur collection in 2010.

The small hoof vase showcases delicate hooves and rococo-style, fur-like detailing, making it perfect as a bud vase for a single striking flower or a small floral arrangement. It can also function as a candlestick; however, please exercise caution as it may melt or catch fire if exposed to an open flame.
