As part of a collaborative project with AGWA Design Store, Diploma Fashion students from North Metropolitan TAFE transformed teddy bears into miniature versions of the queer icons who inspire them.
Celebrating Pride, each student selected a queer icon and researched their life, style, and cultural impact. Using machine knitting techniques, students designed and produced outfits, accessories, and wigs for their bears, recreating the distinctive look of their chosen figure.
The project combined technical machine knitting skills with creative interpretation, resulting in a collection of bears that celebrates queer identity, visibility, and self expression through fashion.
