The 1Shanthiroad Cookbook brings together recipes from over 70 artists, curators, residents and friends of 1Shanthiroad Studio/Gallery. Compiled by founding director Suresh Jayaram, it celebrates the kitchen at the heart of Bangalore’s longest-running non-profit residency and arts space, mapping recipes across generations and cultures while offering a portrait of its vibrant creative community.
Suresh Jayaram is an artist, art historian, arts administrator, and curator. He is also the founding director of 1Shanthiroad Studio/Gallery, a non-profit arts organisation based in Bangalore, India. His practice involves urban mapping, archiving, and arts education and he previously taught art history at the Karnataka Chitrakala Parishat in Bangalore, where he was also the Dean between 2005 and 2007.
