Featuring artwork byCorban ‘BAMBA’ Clause Williams, Kaalpa, this rug transforms contemporary First Nations art into a striking textile object for the home. Produced in collaboration with Flash Minky, the rug brings together bold colour, movement and storytelling, translating BAMBA’s distinctive visual language into a tactile statement piece.
A collaboration between Corban ‘Bamba’ Clause Williams and Flash Minky, this collection reflects a shared commitment to storytelling, place and cultural exchange. Founded by curator Emilia Galatis, Flash Minky works with Western Australian Indigenous artists, as described by the studio, to create design-led pieces that support sustainable income, with artists receiving a direct share of profits. Williams’ work is grounded in Kaalpa (Canning Stock Route Well 23), his grandfather’s Country in the Western Desert, where he travelled in 2018. That visit, he says, opened his spirit and set his path as an artist, a landscape imbued with deep cultural significance.
About the Artist
Corban "Bamba" Clause Williams was born in Newman in 1994 and based in Parngurr Community, in the western desert region of the Pilbara, Western Australia. At the heart of Williams’ practice lies Kaalpa (Canning Stock Route Well 23) and his grandfather’s Country, where he first travelled in 2018. That visit, he says, opened his spirit and set his path as an artist, a landscape imbued with deep cultural significance.
