AGWA x Ikuntji Artists Cushion Cover 65 x 65cm - Puli Puli Rocks (Green)

Ikuntji Artists was the first art centre established for women of the Western Desert Art Movement and champions the production of First Nations textiles. AGWA Design Store is excited to collaborate with Ikuntji Artists, based in the Northern Territory, to create a unique range of cushion covers utilising a diverse range of striking screen prints by local artists. Ikuntji also managed the entire production process resulting in beautiful and culturally resonant pieces celebrating Ikuntji’s inherent artistry.

Keturah Zimran's artwork captures the 'Puli Puli – Rocks' narrative. She depicts the puli puli (rocks) at two distinct locations: Haasts Bluff where she grew up, and Karrkurrutintja (Lake McDonald in Pintupi) along the WA/NT border. Karrkurrutintja holds significance in the Pilkati (snake) Tjukurrpa (dreaming) of Kaniya Kutjarra (two carpet snakes, two brothers, two Tjangalas), passed down through generations from her grandmother, Narputta Nangala Jugadai. Keturah's paintings intertwine her personal story with her mother's. Hand-screened by Published Textiles and Papers, the fabric guarantees top-tier quality and longevity.
