Cameron Jose’s speciality is fast food, made slow. Using throwing and hand-building techniques, he meticulously recreates comfort foods characterised by their fast and efficient assemblage. His playful ceramic works ironically contrast their subject – cheaply and quickly made, quickly consumed and forgotten – with the material reality of working with clay, a medium that demands slow and careful attention, and the enduring nature of ceramic.
