Better World Arts Cotton Throw 125 x 150cm - NPA937

Better World Arts' cotton throws combine fair trade ethics with stunning Aboriginal art. These throws feature intricate designs by Aboriginal artists and are crafted from 100% cotton, providing both cultural significance and comfort. The throws beautifully represent traditional Dreamtime stories while supporting Indigenous artists and communities.

Nelly shares her deep knowledge of the Seven Sisters Story, a Tjukurpa (creation) narrative in which Wati Nyiru, a man obsessed with the eldest of the Seven Sisters, chases them across Australia. Starting in Whyalla and continuing through Port Augusta to near Canberra, the sisters repeatedly flee his advances. Despite knowing they are afraid, Wati Nyiru persists—singing, dancing, and following them as they camp. The painting reflects key locations where the sisters stopped during their long journey to escape him.
