Two ancestral dogs, a Jampijinpa and a Napangardi, journeyed from west to east, digging into the earth as they travelled and forming ‘warnirri’ (rockholes) and ‘ngapa’ (waterholes). Eventually, the dogs went their separate ways. Feeling lonely, Jampijinpa howled for Napangardi from the south. She came running to him, and together they were married at Ngarnka.
