Tracks We Share: Contemporary Art of the Pilbara

An unprecedented insight into the Pilbara’s artists, places, creative processes, Country, and stories, Tracks We Share: Contemporary Art of the Pilbara offers a rare and broad-ranging insight into a key way the Pilbara’s Aboriginal communities share, sustain and celebrate culture. The Tracks We Share project was initiated in 2019 by FORM in collaboration with Cheeditha Art Group, Juluwarlu Art Group, Martumili Artists, Spinifex Hill Studio and Yinjaa-Barni Art, with independent artists Jill Churnside, Curtis Taylor and Katie West .

It has encompassed artwork development, artistic commissions, artistic residencies, professional development, and extensive documentation, including the gathering of many interviews. This comprehensive, full-colour catalogue contains essays and commentary by leading Aboriginal curators and artists. It also shares images and stories of the artworks and artists showcased in the Tracks We Share exhibition (premiered at The Art Gallery of Western Australia in March 2022), honouring the unique space the Pilbara’s Aboriginal artists have carved out in contemporary Australian art.
