Melbourne artist Kate Rohde uses hand modelling and casting techniques to produce discreet functional and sculptural objects. Inspired by historical decorative arts, Rohde loves Baroque, Rococo and Art Nouveau. Her exclusive pieces at AGWA include bold statement vases, sculptures and maximalist jewellery created in food-safe resin. Fascinated with intense colours, Rohde's various skills and interests have seen her work in several creative arenas, including collaborating with Australian fashion house, Romance was Born on its Renaissance Dinosaur collection in 2010.
The Chrysanthemum Bowl is a small bowl ideal for lollies, as a jewellery dish, or small item holder. It has a Chrysanthemum flower inspired motif and four cast in place dangling rings on the handles.
