Treat Me Like Your Mother is a special edition of Cold Cuts documenting the lives and histories of ten trans* women in Beirut through personal photographs and bilingual oral histories.
Compiled by Mohamad Abdouni and co-edited by Joy Stacey and Rayan Abdel Khalek, the publication traces experiences of war, survival, love, family, nightlife and community during the Lebanese Civil War and the years that followed. Bringing visibility to trans* women and femme men largely absent from conventional histories of Beirut, it forms an intimate public archive celebrating a community too often pushed to the margins.
