Short Circuits explores Vikram Divecha’s interest in the often-invisible systems of planning, construction, demolition and maintenance. Through essays, interviews and documentation, the book examines his long-term collaborations with workers, contractors and decision-makers who shape cities across the United Arab Emirates and beyond. Central to his practice are “found processes,” through which Divecha intervenes in existing social, economic and urban systems to explore questions of agency, labour and value.
