KNOWN: Marrnyula Munuŋgurr

KNOWN is a publication series celebrating contemporary Indigenous Australian artists, amplifying First Nations voices and fostering cultural and artistic exchange.

This volume explores the work and life on Country of Marrnyula Munuŋgurr, a Yolŋu senior artist and printmaker working with Buku-Larrŋgay Mulka Centre since the 1980s. Known for her intricate bark paintings and large-scale installations, Munuŋgurr won the bark painting category at the 2020 National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art Awards. The book includes an essay by curator Maia Nuku and an interview with the artist, also translated into language.
