Limited edition giclee art print of an original artwork by Alice Guiness called Burndud
Alice Guinness is a Yindjibarndi woman who was born at Goodabinyia. Alice has been painting for many years at art centres across Roebourne. Her work features the Burndud/ Bundut Circle which Alice paints in different styles and recently has been experimenting with painting the Burndud on paper.
The Burndud/Bundut circle, an important site and story on Yindjibarndi Ngurra and in Yindjibarndi culture. The Burndut was the first law ground made by the Marrga (creation spirits) who made our language, culture and law back in Ngurra Nyujunggamu (when the world was soft) Alice paints the Burndud repetitively, using a range of striking bold colours, this symbol and her paintings have become iconic across the Pilbara.
Details and Care Instructions: Archival prints of original artworks printed with pigment inks (not dyes) onto top-quality rag paper and are guaranteed to last up to 100 years, however it is recommended that NO artwork be placed in direct sunlight. Editions of 100 and embossed with the Juluwarlu Art Group logo. Print is 37 x 29 cm (similar to A3 in size).
