Kuntjanu is located near Pipalyatjara in the far north-west corner of the APY Lands. It is the dwelling place of Wanampi, the large rainbow serpent that resides beneath the ground in the tjukula (rockhole). This painting illustrates the rockhole where Kuntjanu, an ancient tjilpi (old man) serpent, hides underwater.
